Battal is the oldest form of ebru: the colour is flicked onto the water and lifted by the paper without any further working. Nothing is drawn, nothing is corrected — the pattern forms in the moment the drops meet and cannot be made a second time. Here magenta and violet run into one another while black veins divide the field and a pale shimmer fills the spaces between. A narrow gold line frames the sheet. Landscape format, framed and ready to hang. Made on acid-free ebru paper with natural pigments and ox gall.
