Unlike its upright sisters, this tulip leans to one side, as though it had paused mid-movement. The flower opens in crimson and magenta with a fine pale centre line; the single large leaf swings the other way and carries a deep blue along its fold. This bow cannot be planned — it happens in the one stroke with which the needle draws the colour across the water, and it cannot be repeated. The calm sage-green battal ground holds the movement. A handmade one-of-a-kind piece in a simple black frame; each pattern forms only once.
