The most upright flower in this series, drawn almost like a coat of arms: scarlet outside, violet within, and through the middle a pale pink-and-white flame rising. Two large leaves swing out equally to either side and hold the flower between them. This kind of order is the hardest thing in ebru: the colour rests on moving water, and any unsteadiness of the hand would stay visible forever. The calm sage-green battal ground lets the form speak for itself. A handmade one-of-a-kind piece in a simple black frame; each pattern forms only once.
